Es de observancia obligatoria para las personas físicas o morales responsables de los generadores de vapor, en la industria, comercio y servicios, con capacidad térmica nominal igual o mayor a 10 gigajoules por hora (GJ/h), y que la generación de energía provenga de al menos 90% de bagazo de caña de azúcar como combustible. Objeto y razón de ser: Protection of the environment. REPÚBLICA DE COREA Notificación: G/TBT/N/KOR/741 Proposed enactment to the “Standards and Specifications for Cleansing & Hygiene Products”. The purpose of establishment of Standards and Specifications for Cleansing & Hygiene Products is to stipulate matters concerning ingredient requirements, manufacturing methods, and the usage of cleansing & hygiene products to ensure public safety and quality of cleansing & hygiene products. The proposed establishment of Standards and Specifications for Cleansing & Hygiene Products (“the standards and specifications”) includes the following provisions: a) Establish general rules to specify the legal basis and operational purposes of the standards and to determine matters concerning criteria for classification of cleansing & hygiene products, test unit, temperature range, etc. b) Establish common standards and specifications for cleansing & hygiene products to stipulate matter concerning requirements for raw materials used for manufacturing, criteria for compliance with the standards and specifications, and storage and distribution of cleansing and hygiene product. c) Set forth individual standards and specifications applied in the light of characteristic of 17 cleansing & hygiene products designated by the Cleansing & Hygiene Control Act and provide the list of eligible ingredients for detergent and rinse aid. d) Stipulates matters concerning sampling and sample handling methods in view of physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of the specimens used for test inspection. e) Establish 29 test methods to determine whether the 17 hygiene products comply with individual standards and specifications. SINGAPUR Notificación: G/TBT/N/SGP/37/Add.1 In July 2017, the National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore notified the WTO TBT Committee of its intention to control polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCN) and trichlorfon as Hazardous Substances (HS) under the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA) and EPM (Hazardous Substances) Regulations, and to phase-out the production, import, export and use of PCN by May 2018. Following further consultation with industry, Singapore would like to notify WTO Members of the following 2 changes to the measure: The measure will be extended to also control short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) as Hazardous Substances (HS) under the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA) and EPM (Hazardous Substances) Regulations. The production, import, export and use of SCCP and products containing SCCP in Singapore will be phased out. Further details can be found in Annex A. The proposed date of adoption and entry into force of the measure for PCN and trichlorfon has both been extended by 1 month. The dates for the proposed adoption and entry into force of the measure for SCCP, PCN and trichlorfon are December 2017 and June 2018 respectively. Singapore will extend the comment period on this measure for 60 days from the date of notification of this Addendum.
