This draft standard specifies the safety and interchangeability requirements of tungsten filament incandescent lamps for general lighting service having: • rated wattage up to and including 200 W • rated voltage of 50 V to 250 V inclusive; • bulbs of the A, B, C, G, M, P, PS, PAR or R shapes, or other bulb shapes where the lamps are intended to serve the same purpose as lamps with the foregoing bulb shapes • bulbs with all kinds of finishes • caps B15d, B22d, E12, E14, E17, E27 or E27/51×39 As far as is reasonably practicable, this standard is also applicable to lamps with bulbs and caps other than those mentioned above, but which serve the same purpose. The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to withdraw TIS 1389-2539 (1996) Tumbler dryers: safety requirements, and replace it with TIS 1389-25xx Household and similar electrical appliances – safety: particular requirements for tumble dryers as a mandatory standard. This draft standard deals with the safety of electric tumble dryers intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. It also deals with the safety of tumble dryers that use a refrigerating system, incorporating sealed motor-compressors, for drying textile material. These appliances may use flammable refrigerants. Appliances not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms are within the scope of this standard. UNIÓN EUROPEA Notificación: G/TBT/N/EU/369 Draft Commission Delegated Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 273/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Regulation (EC) No 111/2005 as regards the inclusion of certain drug precursors in the list of scheduled substances (6 pages, in English). This draft Commission Delegated Regulationis adding chloroephedrine and chloropseudoephedrine to Category 1 of the list of scheduled substances in Regulation (EC) No 273/2004 and Regulation (EC) No 111/2005 (the strictest category: economic operators who intend to possess and place on the market those substances need a licence from national authorities). Objeto y razón de ser: It has been demonstrated that chloroephedrine and chloropseudoephedrine have been used on several occasions on the territory of the European Union as precursors for the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine (also known as ‘crystal meth’). More than 3 tonnes of chloroephedrine and chloropseudoephedrine were seized in EU Member States (enough to produce methamphetamine with a market value of close to 200 million €). It is known that these substances are also increasingly being used in certain third countries to produce methamphetamine. Therefore, it is necessary to submit the trade in these substances to strict obligatory monitoring. Notificación: G/TBT/N/EU/370 Draft Commission Regulation on the use of bisphenol A in varnishes and coatings intended to come into contact with food and amending Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 as regards the use of that substance in plastic food contact materials (6 pages + 3 pages of annex, in English). The draft regulation lowers the specific migration limit (SML) for BPA from plastic food contact materials in line with the EFSA opinion published in January 2015. It therefore amends Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. In addition, it applies the same SML to BPA from a varnish or coating applied to materials and articles. The notified draft also sets out the criteria for verification of compliance concerning varnishes and coatings, as well as laying down the requirements for the written declaration of compliance (DoC) for varnished or coated materials and articles.
