74 Notificaciones OMC energy and ionising radiation and the transport of a radioactive or fissile material (121 pages, in English; 122 pages, in Czech). The draft implementing decree, following authorisation in the new Atomic Act, stipulates the following in particular: • rules for specifying radioactive or fissile material subject to a transport licence, their classification, and requirements they must meet • technical requirements for specifying a packaging for the transport of radioactive or fissile material, and requirements imposed on it requirements regarding the content of documentation for the transport licence of a radioactive or fissile material • technical and organisational conditions of transport and shipping of a radioactive or fissile material • requirements regarding the content, language and availability of documentation required for the transport and shipping of a radioactive or fissile material • the manner of marking, appearance and manner of use of safety labels for labelling a radioactive package, vehicle used for its transport, and a freight container • type approval of packaging for the transport, storage or disposal of radioactive or fissile material, type approval of a special-form radioactive material and a low-dispersible radioactive material The draft of the new Atomic Act contains a mutual recognition clause. Objeto y razón de ser: In connection with the adoption of the new Atomic Act, it is necessary to further regulate in detail the fields relating to the transport of radioactive or fissile material and the type approval of selected products. The field in question is currently legislatively regulated primarily by Implementing Decree No 317/2002, as amended. However, said implementing decree shall be repealed by the new Atomic Act. In reaction to international developments, the requirements of the current Implementing Decree No 317/2002 are being updated by the notified draft legislation and aligned with international regulations (IAEA recommendation SSR- 6). In connection with experience applying the current implementing decree, the draft implementing decree eliminates inconsistencies and problems identified in practice. TAILANDIA Notificación: G/TBT/N/THA/475 Thai Industrial Standard for Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar Purposes: Cord Extension Sets (TIS 2432-2555 (2012)) (14 pages, in Thai). The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to enforce TIS 2432-2555 (2012) Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes: cord extension sets as a mandatory standard. This standard applies to cord extension sets, rewirable and non rewirable, with a rated voltage greater than 50 V but not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 16 A, intended for household and similar purposes, either indoors or outdoors. It also applies to cord extension sets which are intended to be used in a cable reel. This standard does not apply to cord extension sets with means for reeling. Notificación: G/TBT/N/ISR/886 SI 4466 part 5 – Steel for the reinforcement of concrete: Cut and bent bars and fabrics (32 pages, in English; 27 pages, in Hebrew). Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 4466 part 5 dealing with steel for the reinforcement of concrete. This draft standard revision adopts the British Standard BS 8666: 2005 including its Incorporating Amendment no. 1 of January 2008 and therefore is significantly different from the old standard. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow: • Expends Table 3 dealing with the standard shapes and adds details for measurements and options for bending • Updates Table 4 dealing with the standard fabric types and stock sheet size • Changes the informative Annex A that provides form example for order lists • Deletes Section D dealing with the approval of batches Objeto y razón de ser: Protection of human health or safety; Prevention of deceptive practices and consumer protection. KENIA Notificación: G/TBT/N/KEN/461 DKS 2641: 2016 Standard Test methods of Conducting Strength Test of panels for Building Construction (18 pages, in English). These test methods cover the following procedures for determining the structural properties of segments of wall, floor, and roof constructions: The values stated in newton per meter units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. Sound engineering design of structures using existing or new materials requires accurate technical data on the strength and rigidity of the basic elements employed in various construction systems. It is the purpose of these test methods to provide a systematic basis for obtaining engineering data on various construction elements and structural details of value to designers, builders, building officials, and others interested in this field. The results should closely approximate the performance in actual service. Objeto y razón de ser: Quality requirements.
